Virtual Shot Put competitions by Valhalla Throws Academy

The third and final Valhalla Throws Academy Virtual Shot Put Competition is on the 20th June 2020.  Around 200 athletes competed in each of the first and second rounds, with entries from around the world.

The competition includes the decider between UK Senior and Junior shot put teams.  Junior champions Serena Vincent and Lewis Byng will go head-to-head with Seniors Sophie McKinna and Scott Lincoln in a live-streamed decider.  The first competition saw the Juniors win by just 1cm, whereas the Seniors comfortably took the lead in the second.  Tune in to see who will win the third round...

Entries are free, with voluntary donations raising funds for the Wounded Highlanders, the only UK Adaptive Highland Games team.  The Wounded Highlanders is made up fully with injured military veterans with many different injuries from limb loss, brain injuries, mental health issues and more. They compete as a team and also individuals at official highland games events and are mostly known for competing at the Famous Mey Highland Games in August of each year.  Sadly like most events for 2020 this year has been cancelled until 2021.

Wounded Highlanders are focused on getting any injured military veteran no matter their injury back in touch with sport and use it as a recovery tool which has been proven to benefit both health and aid in recovery from mental health issues such as P.T.S.D.  All donations would be used 100% for training kit, from scotch hammers, throwing weights and shot puts etc
