The FDS Photocell Timing System is the world's most accurate race timing method short of a full photo-finish setup. Designed by Swiss engineers, this portable, all-weather system uses an infra-red beam across the finish line to deliver split-second precision — and it links seamlessly to a wide range of electronic start pistols and devices.

A smart step up from manual timekeeping, the FDS system works alongside Timekeepers and Track Judges to combine ultra-accurate electronic timing with experienced human judging. Note: photocells cannot distinguish between multiple athletes finishing simultaneously or between an arm and torso crossing first — so official judgement remains essential.

WIRC Infra-Red Photocells

The Wireless Infra-Red Photocell set (WIRC) is a compact, integrated solution that detects and transmits finish-line impulses to the T-Box via bidirectional radio protocol. Wired connection is also available via 3.5mm jack. Up to 4 WIRC units can pair with a single T-Box. Tripods include spirit levels for precision alignment and adjust easily to torso height for different age groups.

T-Box V41 Wireless Sports Timer

The T-Box V41 features 6 wireless and 2 hard-wired inputs, supporting up to 4 photocells plus an electronic start device. Battery life covers 2 full days of continuous timekeeping. Connects via USB and Bluetooth to the FDS Timing App (iOS & Android) and a wide range of third-party timing & scoring software. All time-stamped impulses are backed up to an internal SD card. Includes onboard GPS with external antenna for cross-country and off-track events.

MLED Display (Optional Upgrade)

The MLED-3S is a lightweight, modular display screen for showing timing results, wind speed, and race information. Each panel weighs just 800g and connects side by side (up to 8 modules) or stacked for a larger display. Uses RS232 communication, compatible with most timing software and direct T-Box integration.
