Choosing the right hammer throw equipment

Whether you're kitting out a school sportshall session or training for senior competition, the right hammer throw equipment comes down to the thrower's age, weight category and how it'll be used.

Competition and training hammers

Filter by competition or training to narrow things down. Competition throwing hammers need to meet World Athletics (IAAF) classification, and several of ours do, while training hammers are built to take the wear of regular technique work.

Hammer weights, from primary to senior

Hammer weight is standardised by age and gender, and you'll find that full range here, from 350g primary and sportshall hammers through to full senior competition weights of 7.26kg (men) and 4kg (women). We also stock overweight and underweight training hammers for strength and technique work, plus Highland Games and masters throwing weights for those events.

Hammer wires, handles and accessories
