Choosing the right shot put equipment
Getting the right shot put ball comes down to weight and standard. We stock shot from 500g right through to the full 7.26kg senior competition weight, so whether you're equipping a primary school or a senior athlete working towards a personal best, you'll find the right shot in our range. Weight is set by age group and competition category, so it's worth checking what standard your athletes are competing to before choosing, and our team is always happy to help if you're not sure.
Competition and training shot
Our competition shot is World Athletics classified, built to the standard needed for meets and championships. Training shot is designed for durability through repeated use, and we also stock overweight and underweight training shot for athletes working on specific parts of their technique. For indoor sessions, our PVC indoor shot gives you a safer option for sports halls and gyms.
Shot put brands
We stock shot put balls from ATE, Nelco, Polanik and Vinex, giving you a genuine choice across price points and specifications. Each brand has its own reputation within the sport, from budget friendly training options through to the premium competition shot used at the highest levels, so there's real choice whatever your budget and level. Nordic shot can also be sourced on request if you're after a specific brand not currently listed in our range.
Shot put accessories
Beyond the shot itself, we stock the equipment needed to train and compete properly.
