The Nordic Diana NXS is an all-round javelin suitable for all conditions. The NXS (Next Generation Sharp) tip offers maximum lift in all wind conditions, making it a universal tip and more forgiving in side/ cross wind conditions than any other tip on the market. Aluminium shaft with steel tip. World Athletics Certified.
This javelin is for intermediate to advanced throwers, who are achieving good distances but might not achieve the perfect release every time. With excellent aerodynamics and balance, but an intermediate skill level and stiffness, this is the javelin most often recommended for club and county level athletes looking to improve their performances.

Nordic Javelins' Advance Tip Control (ATC)
Advance Tip Control technology helps the javelin self-correct to the path thrown, with less tendency to change direction during flight. Simply put, it stays on the path you have thrown it. In addition, the athlete can feel the path and direction the javelin will take during the run-up, allowing adjustments pre-release.
Nordic Diana Technical Rating
Javelins are made to suit the different skill levels of the athlete. If, for example, a beginner starts throwing with the expert javelin, the javelin will not perform as it is intended to perform. However, a top thrower will still be able to achieve good distances with a beginner javelin.
We rate the Diana as a Top Club level javelin. Nordic uses a wheel diagramme to indicate the skill level of their javelins. See the image for the 600g rating. There is no rating wheel for the 500g javelin.
Stiffness
The stiffer the javelin, the less it will flex/vibrate in the air and will result in less air drag. The down side is that it puts a lot more strain on the upper body. A soft javelin flexes/vibrates a lot, which can also be a very good thing is you are a less skilled thrower.
Aerodynamics
This is the difference between throwing an iron pipe and a fine tuned javelin. The two most driving factors when it comes to the cost of a javelin is the choice of material & fine tuning of the geometry. Nordic have invested a lot of time to find the best aerodynamics for the longest flight depending of the stiffness & balance.
Balance
Balance together with aerodynamics will decide when in flight at a given velocity the javelin will turn it's tip towards the ground. If your javelin has a tendency to land flat you should try a javelin with lower level aerodynamics and balance.
