Christmas tree running spikes have a wider top and thus work with compression not penetration. They press onto the track, which then rebounds pushing the spike out, rather than digging into the track surface like a pyramid or needle spike.
Christmas Tree spikes are recommended for all Mondo surface tracks (e.g. Lee Valley) as they give a better return action.
Spike Size options (Please check regulations at your track):
- 6mm - Track use (maximum length allowed in Lee Valley and many other tracks)
- 9mm - Javelin, High Jump & Cross Country
