Ground sockets for the tie down straps needed to secure para-athletes' chairs for throw events. The set includes eight sockets to be concreted in to a throwing circle. Eight sockets are required per circle, but you do not use all the sockets at once to tie down. Four is normally adequate, but the reason for eight positions is to give more flexibility for angles of fastening to suit different frames/chairs.
Ground sockets are a good alternative to tie-down bars. Tie-down bars are less popular at present, as they are bulky, difficult to move and store, and block the circle for other athletes. Ground sockets are easier to use and enable para-athletes to more easily share the circle with the rest of the throwing squad.
A far more secure option than throwing platform stakes.
